The 68th Grey Cup was played on November 23, 1980 before 54,661 fans at the Exhibition Stadium at Toronto. The Edmonton Eskimos demolished the Hamilton Tiger-Cats by the score 48 to 10, in one of the Grey Cup's most lopsided victories.

The officials cancelled most of the last minute of the game when fans began running on the field.

Though Eskimos fans cherish this victory, their team's third Grey Cup in a row (of their record 5 straight wins) and most convincing triumph, this was one of the truly dreadful blow outs in Grey Cup history. You have to go back to 1923 and the 11th Grey Cup, when Queen's University blanked the Regina Roughriders 54-0 to find a larger margin of victory.

To date, this also the most recent Grey Cup in which a team did not score a single touchdown during the course of the game (all of the Ti-Cats points were accounted for by Bernie Ruoff).
